Building Bridges to Better Learning in Literacy

Who is it for?    

All Year 6 teachers, primary subject curriculum leaders, secondary Year 7 teachers, secondary subject leaders, literacy co-ordinators, teaching assistants.

What are the benefits?    

This course will provide teaching and learning ideas that will motivate students in the classroom, and help teachers to recognise the continuity of the curriculum as students move through the key stages.

Throughout the course, support will be provided to tailor the KS3 curriculum to build on what students have been taught at KS2. Teachers will learn strategies and approaches that will increase students’ confidence and understanding as they move across the phases and be provided with practical ideas that will transform learning.

The intention is for one session to be delivered by a primary colleague and one session by a secondary colleague to ensure that both key stages are covered effectively.

Dates, Time and Venue:

This course consists of 2 sessions which will take place as follows:

Session 1 – w/c 03/06/19
Session 2 – w/c 01/07/19

All sessions will take place from 4.15pm to 6pm at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Horncastle, LN9 5AD

Price:

£60 per session or 2 twilight credits
*Attendees must attend both sessions
